Ok chaps, I've updated the image to what I hope is a better result.

I've also added the image to the first thread for comparison.

Much better Dieter! Truly inspiring Art!

Just wondering about source of the highlight in the middle of the fuselage.

The highlight is an extension of a highlight from the wing root but I'm thinking I've overdone it. It might look better toned down a bit.

Edit: toned down the highlight on the fuselage.

Hey Dieter,

Just let me know when I'm getting annoying, but... The second aircraft pops against the background, the foreground one does not. In my opinion the wingman should be desaturated a bit and the foreground one could do with less milky reds and clearer markings. It's like the metal is right but the bits that are painted on the aircraft should be less metallic and have more diffuse.

It does definitely look a lot better though!

Cheers,

Wiek

I'm starting to get a little out of my depth here, but I'm looking at version 3 on my (in)famously dark monitor at home. From that perspective, the background appears to be the problem - I'm starting to think it's too sharp - it's a lovely background, don't get me wrong, but something isn't quite right. Perhaps run a slight gausian blur over the back plate (including the bridge explosion - I think the flak is fine) - only a touch, to make the foreground plane the main point of focus - then as Wiek said, start to desaturate the second plane?

Just my opinion of course

Yeah ok I see what your saying, I've got too much reflection going into the markings on my texture maps. I'll fix that up!

Yeah the markings do fade out a little indeed. I think if you fix the reflection on them it will look much better.
